To My Sister Whom I Don’t Hear
It’s selfish I know.
That lately I actually don’t let you speak.
That before you finish, I start talking about some other insignificancy.
I don’t listen, you scream.
That it’s not always about me, you scream.
That I don’t understand you have things to get off your chest too, you scream.
There’s something I’ve never told you.
That I can know exactly how you are feeling in any moment just by listening to your breath on the phone?
That sometimes I talk mile-a-minute so that you can’t say out loud what I fear I hear in your breath.
You know I don’t lie.
And to tell you the truth, is a power I don’t bear.
So sometimes I let you believe that I really don’t care.
